silvia campbell bespoke shoes blue brocade heelI love working with different materials and feel that fabric is often overlooked when it can deliver spectacular results. Many women are scared of fabric shoes because they think they will not last as long as leather. This is not necessarily the case in my opinion so long as you look after them properly.

This amazing vintage blue and gold brocade is an example of how fabric can work beautifully on shoes or boots. I covered the buttons in brocade too for the completeness. When using a patterned fabric such as this it is always a little bit tricky, as I have to make sure that the fabric looks very similar on both shoes which takes little bit more time and careful planning. I used gold calf leather for the lining to compliment the gold in the fabric.
